This yearlong weekly journey is designed to help you break free from what I call the porn prison - a state of mental, emotional, and spiritual confinement caused by porn consumption. This prison traps individuals in cycles of shame, isolation, and disconnection, making it difficult to live a life of purpose and fulfillment.

Each Friday for the full year of 2025, I’ll dive into a key aspect of recovery, provide practical tools, and challenge you to take meaningful steps toward lasting freedom. Whether you’re just starting your journey or already working toward healing, this series offers encouragement, clarity, and structure to help you build and sustain a new, liberated identity.

Unstuck

Mac in the Mud - Ross, Ohio 2023

Dirty thoughts.

Soiled in shame.

Stuck in the muck of mediocrity.

The cold mire seizes our attention, keeping us paralyzed in frustration.

The slimy pit of shame and blame, chaining our willingness to move forward.

Desiring, hoping and praying to be released from the trenches, only to sink deeper the moment we miss the mark and fail again.

Nothing seems good enough.

Progress, an unfamiliar word.

The wallow feeds on our lifeforce, on our will to get unstuck.

How long will this last?

Is this a hopeless endeavor?

Is my fate to remain in this torment?

Where do I go from here?

These are questions we have asked myself hundreds, if not thousands of times when faced with this plague.

A nagging presence of hopelessness, sapping our strength.

The weight compounding and sinking our ability to think clearly, clouding our vision of not just the future, but the present moment.

But yet…

We remain.

Beleaguered, yet we stand.

Muddy, bloody, marred, scarred.

But we aren’t dead.

We still breathe.

We are still here.

There’s something we are holding on to, a branch of hope extended above the pit that lives within us, that is hellbent on devouring life itself.

This aid may look small, even fragile but it holds.

It holds because it is rooted in something stronger than shame, something that no filth can erase.

The image of God, of your creation, stamped upon your soul.

No matter how stained from the dirt.

No matter how the grime seeps out of every pore in your conscience.

No matter how deep your descent into depravity.

The mark remains.

The light remains.

Unbreakable.

Unmistakable.

Undeniable.

You are not beyond redemption.

You are not beyond rescue.

Each time you reach for the branch, every time you pull on its fibers, anytime you extend another inch upward…

You prove to the pit that it does not have the final say.

You may feel broken beyond words.

But you are not dead.

You are still breathing.

You are still reaching.

You are still fighting.

And in the Kingdom of God, even a mustard seed of faith is enough to move mountains.

Even the dirtiest hands can be washed clean.

Even the filthiest heart can be renewed.

You are not the muck.

You are the person climbing out of it.

Keep reaching.

Keep breathing.

Keep fighting.

Even in the mud, there’s movement.

Even in the dark, there’s direction.

Even in the pit, there’s purpose.

You are getting unstuck.

All Cleaned Up - With my Mother & Little Sister - Treasure Island, Florida 2023

Challenge for the Weekend: Move an Inch. Even If It’s Ugly.

You don’t have to sprint out of the pit this weekend.

You don’t have to leap or fly or make it look impressive.

You just have to move.

Even one inch.

Even one stubborn, messy, trembling inch.

  • Choose honesty over hiding once this weekend.

  • Choose prayer over despair once this weekend.

  • Choose reaching instead of retreating once this weekend.

Pick one thing, one decision, that drags you even slightly toward freedom.

Let the mud drip.

Let the struggle show.

You are not performing for applause or for high fives.

You are climbing toward freedom.

You are fighting for a new life.

One inch at a time.

Affiliate Partnership – Why I Recommend Ever Accountable

I don’t promote anything I wouldn’t personally use or trust with my own recovery.

That’s why I’ve partnered with Ever Accountable the accountability software I use myself and recommend.

Porn thrives in secrecy.

But recovery requires visibility and friction and that’s exactly what this software creates.

It’s not about shame.

It’s about support.

When you know someone else can see what you’re doing online, the decision to relapse gets interrupted.

You’re no longer isolated in the moment, you’re reminded that your actions matter, and someone has your back.

I often tell people:

“You don’t break free from porn prison alone. You break free from porn prison together.”

Tools like Ever Accountable make together possible, even if you’re physically walking this out solo.

💡 Why I Recommend It:

  • It adds friction. Temptation thrives in ease. This adds resistance.

  • It removes secrecy. When someone else can see your screen, the pull of relapse weakens.

  • It builds trust. With yourself and with others. No more hiding.

  • It fits into your life. Works on phones, tablets, laptops → whatever your daily environment includes.
