Two Years Later | A Lot Can Happen in Two Years
The Break Free Weekly Newsletter - Edition #22

Two Years Later
Two days ago marked the two-year anniversary of my divorce being finalized.
As the title states, a lot has happened since then. A lot of life has happened.
When I sat down to think about what message I wanted to share this week, I kept circling back to something simple, but powerful:
Life will go on.
You will survive this turbulence.
You will endure the terror.
You will come out the other side.
Even when it feels like the road ahead is crumbling beneath your feet, or ends at a dead stop, you’ll still have a life worth living on the other side.
I write to you this evening as living proof.
Two years ago, I was in a season of utter hopelessness. I was completely lost, devastated, and disoriented. Not much of my reality felt comforting, and some moments were barely bearable. I spent many sleepless nights wrestling with grief, haunted by despair.
It felt like a death had occurred.
And in a very real way, it had.
The life I thought I had ahead of me expired, abruptly and painfully.
The foundations of my identity shattered, and when I looked into the broken mirror, I barely recognized the man staring back. I saw a stranger. A man who needed help.
A man who needed guidance.
A man who needed purpose.
A man who needed an adventure.
By grace, and only His grace, I listened when God spoke through the silence. And I surrendered to His voice.
Lead me Lord. Lead me.
Two years later, I’m still standing.
I’m still learning.
And I’m living a life that’s being rebuilt, moment by moment.
If you’re there in the thick of it, please hear me:
You will make it through.
There is still life on the other side of the pain and uncertainty.
You will make it through.
There’s bliss on this path ahead, when the storm’s rage softens and light parts the clouds.
You will make it through.
I know it is hard and I know it is painful but your peace will be built one day at a time.
Keep going.
Stay faithful to hope.
The next chapter of life is about to begin.
Much Love,
Mac

Your Challenge for the Week:
I challenge you to think ahead two years.
Where could you be?
Who might you become?
What might be healed, built, or restored if you start moving now?
It’s easy to feel stuck in the wreckage of today, but two years from now, you’ll either still be standing in it… or standing because of it.
Start building now.
Even if it’s messy.
Even if it’s slow.
Even if it feels like vomiting on paper or crawling uphill in the dark.
Two years from now, your future self will thank you for starting.
Closing Thoughts:
Two years ago, I didn’t know how I was going to make it through.
Now, I’m living proof that you can make it through. That healing takes time. That peace is built slowly → one day, one step, one surrender at a time.
So wherever you are right now, hold on.
Let the storm rage if it must, but don’t stop moving.
Don’t stop believing there’s life beyond this.
Keep writing.
Keep building.
Keep trusting that the path ahead, though unclear, is still unfolding under your feet.
And remember:
You don’t have to do it all today.
You just have to keep going.
