Opening Remarks: Reflecting on 24 & Planning Ahead for 25
As we approach the end of the year and begin to enter a new one, I think it is essential to both reflect and to plan ahead. One great way to do that is to think of a word that sums up your 2024 and to choose a word that will be your 2025. Finishing up this year, my word for 2024 is Adaptability. I witnessed and completed the end of my marriage, finally completely settling finances in October while enjoying a blossoming relationship with an amazing woman since February.
2024 was a year of endings and beginnings. I constantly had to adapt to meet the new realities and moments post-divorce, learning to trust and love again in a relationship while balancing out the nomadic remote work lifestyle. There was a lot going on this year but I am proud that I maintained my identity and my integrity. Adapting to life’s challenges and gifts allowed me to grow as a man and build incredible confidence and momentum heading into 2025.
With this momentum, my word for 2025 is Undivided. All credit for this word goes to my girlfriend from a introspective discussion a couple of months ago as we reflected on where and who we want to be in the future. The word struck me to the core as a necessity for 2025. To live Undivided is to live in harmony with all habits, goals, and actions unified towards a common purpose. In other words, 2025 will be a year of intention on my integrity in my Spirt, in my Physical Fitness, in my Relationships, and in my Passions - not to be splintered by self-doubt or old, bad habits. Rather to be bolstered by growth and progress to enter new horizons of self-development and connection with the gifts of life. As I write this, the confidence grows and the smile of adventure crosses my lips. Onward! The good fight continues!

Practical Tips: Start Small
As we enter the new year, it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of resolutions and overcommit to achieving everything at once. This all-or-nothing mindset can quickly lead to burnout, leaving us discouraged before February even arrives. Instead, focus on starting small. When it comes to breaking free from porn, here are some simple steps to get started:
Set a Daily Intention: Each morning, remind yourself why you’re on this journey and commit to one positive action for the day.
Identify Triggers: Take five minutes to write down situations, emotions, or patterns that lead to temptation. Awareness is the first step to change.
Replace the Habit: Choose one small, healthy activity, like a 5-minute mindfulness exercise or a walk, to do when you feel an urge.
Limit Access: Install accountability software or block problematic websites on your devices.
Find Support: Share your goal with a trusted friend or join an online recovery community for encouragement and accountability.
Start with one or two of these steps, and build momentum gradually. Remember, consistency over time, not intensity in the moment, is what creates lasting change.
