Missing the Moment

A poem

As I sat there

I didn’t want to share

that moment with you.

And as you pulled close

I was comatose

and didn’t notice you.

As your story was read

you were not in my head

and I didn’t listen to you.

Now when I sit down

I have a frown

knowing that you

were real.
